NaPoWriMo #17 – The Adventures of Cookie Dough & The Big Dipper

NaPoWriMo 2019
Time to move. Like, literally.
I've been frozen behind the counter for ages.
Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry - I've seen them come and go.
Meanwhile my chocolate chips have become
little solid discs and I have no idea when I'll ever get my big break,
scooped up,
that chink in the ice
cream.
But one day, once upon a time,
swooping down comes
the stars
the milkyway
the Big Dipper.
My body is moulded for Them.
I arch my back into the curves until They hug me tight.
I am perfectly round and pristine.
Now orbed, I orbit Their galaxy.
But then, the dizziness comes to an end,
and I find myself without them.
I'm frozen again,
atop of a mountain.
I proudly stand round,
my chocolate chips glisten under the
starry shoplights
and now everyone can see,
my cookie dough.

Today’s Prompt

Today, I’d like you to challenge you to write a poem that similarly presents a scene from an unusual point of view.

The Visit – Flash Fiction #1

Short Stories & Flash Fictions

The house was as it always was; the concoctions of must and chipping paint gave it its usual pungent smell, while the ever-expanding cobwebs decorated the plain walls nicely. Like the residents, the spiders themselves were scarcely seen, however, meaning that the space between the walls were often left blank. An empty home was a strange sight indeed. No family, no dining table, no white picket fence here.
