NaPoWriMo #17 – The Adventures of Cookie Dough & The Big Dipper

NaPoWriMo 2019
Time to move. Like, literally.
I've been frozen behind the counter for ages.
Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry - I've seen them come and go.
Meanwhile my chocolate chips have become
little solid discs and I have no idea when I'll ever get my big break,
scooped up,
that chink in the ice
cream.
But one day, once upon a time,
swooping down comes
the stars
the milkyway
the Big Dipper.
My body is moulded for Them.
I arch my back into the curves until They hug me tight.
I am perfectly round and pristine.
Now orbed, I orbit Their galaxy.
But then, the dizziness comes to an end,
and I find myself without them.
I'm frozen again,
atop of a mountain.
I proudly stand round,
my chocolate chips glisten under the
starry shoplights
and now everyone can see,
my cookie dough.

Today’s Prompt

Today, I’d like you to challenge you to write a poem that similarly presents a scene from an unusual point of view.

Yay! Double digits – 10 poems in 🙂

I think what I’ve gotten out of NaNoWriMo is realising that not all poems need to have a deep meaning behind them, and you can just write a poem for the sake of writing a poem. So, with that in mind, I chose to write this poem about how my taste in food has changed since I was a kid.
